Es un paraje protegido de aproximadamente 40 hectáreas de superficie sobre las que se desarrollan ecosistemas mediterráneos típicos de nuestras latitudes con grandes zonas adehesadas para el pasto del ganado. El área natural acogerá visitas guiadas y cuanta con lugares de esparcimiento controlados. Se destaca como un gran espacio para el senderismo y la práctica de las artes. Igualmente en la zona tiene su ubicación el Aula de la Naturaleza, desde donde se gestiona la educación ambiental de nuestro municipio.
Todas las infraestructuras servirán para fomentar las actividades artísticas y deportivas sin alterar el entorno ni mermar la calidad medioambiental del mismo.
En las nuevas instalaciones y equipamientos: (quiosco, Aula de la Naturaleza, establo, mesas y sillas), se ha recuperado un antiguo diseño de la zona que combina la mampostería con el ladrillo visto. Se han adaptado antiguas ruinas existentes de manera que se ha permitido su reutilización como zonas de desarrollo artístico y creativo.
En definitiva, se trata de una amplia zona verde forestal donde se pueda ejercitar la pintura, fotografía, lectura, teatro, música, reposo o actividades físicas no contaminantes (senderismo, juegos de mesa, gimnasia al aire libre, etc.), cubriendo una gran labor social de prácticas artísticas, lúdicas, didácticas, medioambientales o de acciones en el campo no agresivas con el entorno.
Las instalaciones básicas de este paraje protegido son las siguientes: Aula de la Naturaleza, quiosco, establo, adecuación de ruinas, merendero, áreas caninas, mobiliario urbano…
La entrada es gratuita.
