Mountain Bike: Ruta de Collado Villalba a El Escorial
17 de Marzo de 2008Seguramente muchos de vosotros conocéis el camino del camping de El Escorial o El Campillo. La verdad es que dicho camino se sale de las lindes del pueblo, sin embargo, creo que es mas conocido por los villalbinos que por aquellos que viven en El Escorial o San Lorenzo. Se trata de un camino que sale desde el parque de Romacalderas una vez cruzada la carretera de Guadarrama y que se prolonga hasta el Camping de El Escorial, pudiendo optar a subir desde este a la carretera que enlaza el Valle con el municipio.
De esta forma, cuando llegue al antiguo caserón (no tengo claro se era una posada donde se cambiaban los caballos o un convento) puede ver el maravilloso espectáculo de varias decenas de cigüeñas posadas en sus nidos. Si seguimos adelante, según nos cruzamos de forma continua con gente corriendo, andando o montando en bici, podemos observar a fabulosos ejemplares de algunas de las mejores ganaderías de reses bravas que hay por la zona, así que ojo con pasar al otro lado de la alambrada, ni tan siquiera a buscar setas.
Una vez que pasas el caserón, el terreno se vuelve un poco mas duro y normalmente, salvo en verano o épocas de sequía suele presentar barro y piedras sueltas.
Si sigues por el camino hacia el camping, pasaras antes por la entrada al Cortijo Wellington, enorme finca de este paraje. Allí el camino es mas monótono ya que las vistas se ven mas cerradas ya que la vegetación es mas alta. Eso si, justo antes del desvío podemos observar unos restos de una antigua calzada y si levantamos la vista podemos ver ya ante nuestros ojos el majestuoso Monasterio.
